This course introduces the foundational principles that underpin financial reporting in the public sector. You will explore the role of the conceptual framework in guiding the development of the Standards of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP), and its practical application in preparing general-purpose financial reports.

• Apply the qualitative characteristics that make information useful.
• Understand the elements, recognition, and measurement principles in financial statements.
• Identify and apply different measurement bases for assets and liabilities.
• Present financial information in a clear, consistent, and decision-useful way.
